A fruitful year

Through the year in Lillian’ class, I have learned so much. Actually, I had no confidence in English before. But when I began to work on the projects, the worry was driven away. The first project “My hometown” was an experience that I haven’t had. I had to introduce my hometown to foreigners who may not even know my hometown. And then, I tried to interview my friend and my uncle some questions in English to show how different the life is between teenagers in 1956 and 2006. The teen life of my uncle was interesting to me.

My Hero is my favorite project; I chose a different way to show the hero, because it was difficult to describe her charm and character in words. So I made a short movie to display my hero. I had a sense of achievement; however I had wanted to give up.    This semester, my partners and I compiled the newspaper of Calligraphy. We hoped more and more people can know and appreciate Chinese cultural. And my last project is writing a blog. It’s a big challenge, but it is exciting.

Moreover, I had experienced many joyous activities, like planting trees, paying a visit to Studio Classroom, and sending Christmas cards to other countries etc…The impressive activity is sending Christmas cards to other countries. We wrote cards and prepared some souvenirs for them. Every group had own style to show their hospitality.

Last but not least, learning in English Project Study Class opened my eyes. And I have to thanks some people, like Tina, Hedy, Cherry, and Lillian. Without their encouragement and help, I had not accomplished these projects. By the way, although I have one class left, it isn’t the end of my English Project. I have to apply the experiences to my life in the years to come.

When I was a teenager.

Today, I got a phone call from my friend – Shimoto’s mother. It was an uncommon thing so I had a premonition before answering the call. The mother told me that Shimoto didn’t go to school today. At that time, I was too shocked to think how to reply. Then, the mother signed and told me what has Shimoto done since she had a boyfriend. She lied to her parents to cover her unusual acts. Moreover, she began to react against her parents. Actually, before getting the call, I have ever thought she is different from the past. But, I never think she will change so much. I could infer that her mother was disappointment, confused and worried from her voice. It is difficult to deal with the problem. On the standpoint from parents and teachers, they may think teenagers should focus on their studies and relationship. Love is not suitable for us. But teenagers may say, we should be free to enjoy our life. What is true? Her mother requested me to help Shimoto. I think I should help her, too. But, how can I do?

My hometown in 2056

In 2056, the city is not noisy and dirty anymore although there are many cars. Because cars are improved to be moved by solar energy and they are floating. Visitors from many countries enjoy shopping, talking with residents and walking. When you enter the convenience store, there is no clerk. Everybody pay with ID card to a robot. Now, you feel a little tired and hungry, you want to sit down and eat something. You enter a restaurant and order, but there is no menu. Oh! The menu is built-in the table. Just move a finger and you can choose any meal you want. After having a good meal , you want to see scenery so you take the train to the country. It take just a little time from place to place.  In the country, there are a few bicycles on the road. The fresh air, melodic sing, and beautiful scenery make you pretty relaxed. Buildings are not high but romantic like in the amusement park. You whistle and walk on the country road, on you right, you see the farmer work hard on the farm. On the other side, something unique caught your eye. You are so curious that you go touch it; suddenly, a spout of water shot out, it’s the pump. It’s the time to go home, then you take the bus to go home.
